Was ist eigentlich ASHA?
Das ASHA-Protokoll steht für „Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids“. Es handelt sich dabei um einen technischen Standard, der speziell von Google entwickelt wurde, um Audioinhalte von Android-Smartphones direkt auf Hörgeräte zu übertragen, ohne zusätzliches Zubehör zu benötigen.
Dank Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) verbraucht das Streaming über ASHA erheblich weniger Strom, als über die klassischen Blueoothprotokolle HFP & A2DP und hat zusätzlich noch eine bessere Audioqualität.
Damit das Smartphone überhaupt ASHA unterstützten kann, benötigt es mindestens Android 10 und Bluetooth 5.0. Dann muss der Smartphonehersteller das ASHA Protokoll aber noch Softwareseitig implementieren.
